NHS England: Contract Support Officer Primary Care

NHS England as direct commissioners of medical, pharmacy, dental (including secondary care) and optical services ('primary care') will improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities by improving access to services, improving the quality of commissioned services, innovation, and best value for the tax payer.

The Primary Care Commissioning Team is responsible for delivering the primary care commissioning function (those delegated to Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and those retained by NHS England), fulfilling an assurance role in respect of co-commissioning arrangements as part of the wider CCG assurance process, and delivering the change programme that is highlighted in the Five Year Forward View and more specifically in the GP Forward View (GPFV) and Community Pharmacy Reform Package.

The team is structured in a way that provides focus to the key service delivery areas of 'primary care' - General Practice, Dentistry (including secondary care pathways), Community Pharmacy and Optometry. All service areas require the development and implementation of a local plan to improve the sustainability and quality of patient services as part of improving out of hospital care and driving forward better access to primary care services.
