Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is currently undertaking an exciting project to implement Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) using Cerner Millennium across two hospital sites, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and University Hospital in Lewisham. The project is a joint initiative between Pharmacy and IT, being led by the Lead Pharmacist for Electronic Prescribing.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the Electronic Prescribing Team and be involved in a challenging and rewarding project that will change the way that healthcare professionals work in all clinical areas. Applicants should have a desire to promote new ways of working across the Trust and an interest in and enthusiasm for working with IT.
Successful candidates will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and help integrate the use of technology into clinical practice. The post holder will support the technical development, planning, implementation and on-going management of the system, including the maintenance of accurate configuration documentation. Excellent communication skills are required as the successful applicant will be required to communicate complex technical information and provide training to a variety of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and pharmacy staff.
Previous experience of electronic prescribing would be valuable but is not essential.
